David M. Edwards is a man driven. Driven by a passion to see people enter into the presence of God. Driven to see (and be a part of) a new generation of seekers - seekers after the face of God, and not just the "hands" of God. David has had a lifetime full of experiences—shaping him into the teacher/writer/pastor/worshipper that he is today. His music and teaching ministry takes him to places as far away as France, Germany, Switzerland, Romania, and the United Kingdom—as well as all over America.
David and his wife, Susan, and their three children, have been in ministry for 15 years. New songs of worship have been pouring out of him for years. David has worked with prolific songwriters such as Margaret Becker, Ginny Owens, Chris Eaton, Steve Hindalong, Greg Nelson, Natalie Grant, Matt Brouwer, Caleb Quaye, and John Hartley. “These songs are all about Him—they’re not about me,” David relates. “Pain teaches us to worship and cling to God, so my songs come from personal experience and pain in my own life. There's always something we can be grateful for—to come to God and thank Him.”
This has been a busy season for David’s songs: Natalie Grant’s smash album, “Awaken” includes one of David’s songs, as does Matt Brouwer’s “Unlearning”, Riverspring’s “We All Declare”, and the brand new Christ Church project, and in 2006 Kathy Troccolli’s new album will have his song, “Mercy.” In 2005, he was awarded Worship Leader Magazine’s “Best Scripture Song” Praise Award for his song, “Create In Me” off of his “Faithfully Yours: Psalms” project with Margaret Becker. David was been a winner of ASCAP’s Popular Award Panel’s recognition for 8 years in a row!
In 2003, David began “Power to Worship Encounter”—a seminar where attendees not only learn about the “nuts and bolts” of worship, but experience God’s presence as well. This book developed out of the overwhelmingly positive response to those seminars. David’s desire is for people to be ministered to as well as perfect their craft and calling. His Worship 365: The Power of a Worshiping Life book and four Through The Seasons With God… and three Faithfully Yours… devotional books on worship featuring David’s songs and selections from the Holman CSB Bible, as well as the new Holman CSB Worship Bible for which David was the general editor, will be released in 2006 and 2007. In 2006 David became an official spokesman for the Bible League, which is one of the world’s largest evangelical, non-denominational Scripture placement agencies. It provides Bibles and Bible studies to local churches in more than 50 countries, training and equipping Christians to use the Bible to make disciples and establish new churches to bring people into fellowship with Christ and His church.
